Realization of Perpetual Union

Realization of Perpetual Union
(Nitya Yog ki Praapti )

Shree Hari
God has given beings (jeev), this human body for attaining salvation. From this perspective this human birth is veritably for achieving spiritual disciplines. As spiritual disciplines are the primary aim of human birth, all of mankind can attain salvation. All men can be freed from the cycle of birth and death. Why can he be freed? Because in fact he is free. Therefore a spiritual aspirant must first and the foremost accept with a firm conviction that I can be freed. Why can I be freed? Because I am FREE. I can attain God Realization, why can I attain God? The reason is, God is already attained. He Who is in all places, all time zones, at all times, in all beings, in all incidents, in all circumstances, that Paramatma, can He be ever be apart from us? Just as God never separates from us, similarly we can never be united with the body. Till today we have gone to many wombs, we have taken on many bodies, but none of the bodies have remained with us, while our "self" has remained AS-IS. Therefore an aspirant must accept the Truth that we have an indivisible relationship with Paramatma. And the body has an indivisible relationship with the world. Therefore we can do nothing for ourselves by means of this body. If we do any actions (activities) with this body, it will be only for the world, not for ourselves. All actions have a relationship with the world. Our self (swaroop) is free of actions. If we do not wish to do any actions that what is the need of this body?

Now an aspirant should think that when we can do nothing whatsoever for ourselves with the means of this body, when we can only do for the world, then what can we do for ourselves? How can we do? On thinking further one comes to know that for ourselves with the means of our self, we can become free of desires (nishkaam). Why can we be free of desires? Because we are free of desires. For ourselves we can become "nirmama" (free of attachment, proprietary interest). Why can we become so? Because we are free of attachment. We can become "nirahankaar" (free of egoism) ? why can we be free of egoism? Because we are free of egoism. In Gita, the Lord tells us to become free of desires (nishkaam), free of proprietary interest (nirmama) and free of egoism (nirahankaar). Why does he say so? Because we are free of desires, free of proprietary interest and free of egoism.

Through ourselves we can accept God as our very own. Why can we do so? Because God is our very own. Absolutely no one else is ours , they cannot be. We can by the means of our self become detached from the world. Why can we become detached? Because we are detached from the world - "Asango hryam purushah" (Brhadaaranyak 4/3/15) . The point that is deduced is that for ourselves we can become free of desires, free of proprietary interest, and fee of egoism. To be so, the body is not essential, rather this can happen by our own self. By renouncing effort and dependency on someone other than the "self", we can by means of our self attain tranquility and dependency on God. In this we are not subservient to others, rather we are totally independent.
