Do You Desire Love?

Do You Desire Love?
(Prem Chaahate Ho? )

Shree Hari

From childhood itself, Meerabai developed an ardent desire for Gopal (God), absorbed in one thought, "mere toh giridhar gopal, doosero na koyi", "Only Giridhar Gopal is Mine, no one else is mine." Let there be such keenness and perseverance, this is the real means, as no one else will be there to stay by your side. God says that I will not leave you, and you say that I will not believe you. Then what am I to do? Tell me? It has become so difficult !! You have become insistent that God is not mine and others, mother – father etc., are mine. O' brother, please believe, please accept ! Acknowledge the Truth ! Besides God, all are the kind to meet and later part - I find this to be quite a fine point. Those who we meet and later part ways are not ours, in this there is no doubt. Accept this point.

The qualities of God are described as to how He is? Then "Ishvar sarvabhootaanaam hrdesherjun tishthati", now what to do? God does not leave and you are absolutely insistent that you will not believe any such things. You accept all other talks, but God is mine, that you do not accept! Meerabai was a true devotee. Such devotees are rare. "Doosero na koyi" "No one else is mine" this they do not accept. Feeling of mine-ness means that besides God, I have no one. All others are the kind to meet and depart, and God remains with you all the time. Only God is ours - be undoubtedly firm on this point, accept it then it will be a wonderful thing ! God says "sab mama priya, sab mama upajaaye", Mamaivaansho jeevaloke" "sabse unchi prem sagaayi". A relationship of love is the highest of all. Even in Gitaji the words used for devotees are "Mahatma" (great ones), "Sarvagya" (all pervading) etc. For a Jnani (man of knowledge, wisdom) God has not used the word "Sarvagya" in Gitaji. "Sarva bhaav bhaji, kapat taji; mohi param priya soyi," "Sarvabhaaven bharatah" etc. God says - "Pitaahamasya jagatah, maataadhaataa pitaamaha" Our family is God Himself. "Sadassacchamrjuna" "Vasudeva Sarvam". Accept one point firmly, just like Meerabai did, then all will be alright! "Only Giridhar Gopal is mine, no one else is mine" God is mine. Surdas's Shyaam, Tulidas's Ram. Meerabai's Giridhar Gopal, Narsi's Shaamaliyaa Seth! God says "Narsiji is my first master and I am his first servant. I am filled by Him only. It is a classic point. God is mine. Whoever is appealing to you, whether it is Ram, Shyam, Shamaliyaa Seth, simply tell who it is that is appealing to you, accept Him!

Narayana ! Narayana !! Narayana !!!
