|| Shree Hari ||What is Truth ?सत्य क्या है ?
continued......
We have to see to our reformation, whatever may happen - this single pointed determination and
resolve is lacking in people. The stronger this want, that much there will be disinclination for the world. By listening to spiritual discourses, one develops interest in one’s supreme welfare, and after indulging in worldly sense pleasures, one develops a distaste for sense pleasures. Then abide in these two, in other words interest in Satsang (spiritual truths) and disinterest in sense pleasures. Become determinate in these two. This is your work.
If you have interest in Satsang, then on completing this satsang, become determined and firm, that henceforth, I want to only do this work, then this will become steady, firm and determinate. If this becomes steady, then all work is complete. This work which is for our reformation is very easy, the only thing needed is interest. There is one point that makes
one stuck within, that this work cannot happen quickly, it takes a lot of time. This thought is very destructive. For realizing God, the anticipation of sometime in future is very destructive. Anticipation in the future sometimes, is for things which are the result of some actions; which are limited by space and time. But the thing that is totally and completely present at all places, at all times, in all things, in all states, in all situations and in all circumstances, etc., for that thing, there is no requirement of future. For worldly desires just as there is hope of future, in the same way to have anticipation of future with respect to God, assuming that it will take a very long time - this is a very wrong notion.
I am telling you that very same thing, which appeals to me, and with which I have gained immensely. If you honor these points, then very quickly you can benefit. Just as one king is ruling over all the kingdoms, and all the related things, and related villages due to having a relationship. Even greater than that is relationship with God. The exceptional thing is that these things have their existence is seen through That God. Or else, how could this world which does not remain steady for a single moment, appear real ! Then from this there is an eternal and constant relationship with God. Not even a single moment is there disconnection from it, such is its eternal and constant union. The disconnection from connection with the world is itself called “yog”
(Union)‒‘तं विद्याद् दु:खसंयोगवियोगंयोगसञ्ज्ञितम् ॥’ (गीता ६।२३) । "tam vidyaad duhkhsamyogviyogam yogasangitam" (Gita 6 / 23 ). “That in which there is disconnection from contact with pain is known as yog” (Gita 6 / 23 ). The moment one accepts dis-connection with this ephemeral world, there is “yog” (Union). That disconnection is taking place every moment. Then at this very moment itself, let us experience that disconnection (separation).
Everyone experiences the distaste for worldly enjoyments. The worldly people do not become fixed on that distaste, rather they become fixed on that pleasure that one gets from sense enjoyments. This is the mistake that is made. An aspirant should want that he should become steady and firm on that distaste.
Question ‒ On experiencing separation from the world, one gets knowledge of it’s destructibility and it’s temporariness (unrealness), but how is one to know what is the Truth (Real) ? In what way are we to know that this is the true (real) Element ?
Answer ‒ See Brother, in my thoughts the aspiration for truth is less, therefore there is no longing. The talks of Truth is so easy, it is so great, and it is so evident, that what am I to say ! Now pay attention. With whom you gain the knowledge of untruth (unreal), that itself is Truth (Real). Its knowledge does not come from the unreal. Now tell me how close is that Truth
!
