Love of Serving in the Great Devotee Shri Hanumanji

(Bhakt Shiromani Hanumanji ki Daasya Rati)

continued .....

There are two differences in the sweet and charming love – swakiy and parkiya. In swakiya the sentiments are one of husband and wife relationship. A chaste wife renounces everything, her mother, father, brother, family heritage etc, and offers herself in the service of her husband. Not only that, she even renounces her gotra and becomes of her husband`s gotra* (last name, lineage, heritage) .She surrenders her body mind, wealth, strength, intellect, etc., everything to her husband and becomes entirely her husband`s. In the swakiya  form of sweet love, all the sentiments such as that of servant, friend, parent and sweet lover are present. She serves the husband as a servant, advises him appropriately as a friend, she feeds, dresses and take care of him like a mother, and she sees toward his pleasure and comforts.
.
In the Parkiya Madhurya Rati  the sentiments are one of having a relationship with some other woman apart from the wife, and for a woman, a man lover, other that her husband. If this relationship is viewed as a worldly relationship as one of an adulterer, then it can be the cause of great degradation, but from a spiritual perspective this sentiment can lead to much progress. If a wife, serves her husband, but out of her entitlement she has expectation that he provide for all the necessities for the sustenance of life, such as food, clothing, house and things for the sustenance of this life and she takes care of the children and raises them, and arranges for their education, marriage and other arrangements. But in the parkiya sentiments, there is no selfishness or desire other than to provide pleasure to her lover. Compared to the swakiya sentiments, there is much remembrance of one lover in the parkiya sentiments and there is intense and deep longing to meet him. In the swakiya sentiments due to staying with lover, one may see some faults in their lover; however in the parkiya  sentiments one see no faults in the lover. If in the worldly parkiya sentiment there is desire for one`s own pleasure, but in the spiritual parkiya sentiments, there remains no desire whatsoever within a devotee for his own pleasure and happiness. In him there is that one intense longing that how can my lover (God) get the maximum amount of pleasure and comforts. His sense of I-ness becomes merged with God.

Hanumanji's sentiments are far superior than even swakiya and parkiya madhurya rati ! He took on the body of a monkey, so that he would have no need of taking anything from his lover or anyone else. He had no need for bread "roti", nor clothes, nor house, nor taking care of children, nor honor and greatness etc. Monkey can eat fruits, vegetables and leaves from the forest and live on the trees for the sustenance of their life.  In the worldly parkiya sentiments, the love has a relationship with his own mother-father, brother-sister, etc. however, Hanumanji had no relationship whatsoever with anyone else except Lord Shri Ram.
