HAPPY HOLI TO ALL DEVOTEES
(continued)
What is slavery? To wander around like a dog, from one place to another in search of money, hoping to get something. Brother! In reality, you get nothing. Even if you get something, it will not stay with you. An even if it stays with you, your body will not stay. That which is in the form of "existence" today, is all merging into non-existence. Only Paramatma (God) remains always in the form of "existence" (IS-ness). There is never an absence of Paramatma. That which is absent, how can it be real (existent)? Therefore let there only be desire to attain Paramatma. If nothing else then, call out, "O' Lord! Let me develop love for You alone. May I not be able to stay without You - "heli maahri Hari bin rahyo re na jaaya" Let your state be such that now you cannot stay without the Lord.
Mana mein laagi chatpati kab nirakhun dhanshyaam |
Narayana bhoolyo sabhi khaan-paan-vishraam ||
Forgetting everything, eating-drinking and sleeping for God. There is only one yearning and that is for God, then man will experience much extra-ordinariness, which is difficult to describe. It will be infinite, immeasurable, and unbounded bliss. Association with saints, association with people that have good thoughts, association with holy books, and so on, have association with Truth – this itself is the medicine. Great Joy, uncanny bliss, extra-ordinary bliss, will burst and flow. Bliss will arise from within Maharaj ! That bliss will dance and rejoice. At times of fever, at times of trouble, at times when you are being criticized and put down etc. , also at times of unfavourable situations, there will be a joyful spirit from within. Even during most adverse situations, there will be an inner joy. This is the truth. This is from the scriptures and from great men who have realized the truth and I too say so. Saints have done this and seen for themselves. They have experiential knowledge of this. They are in a joyful spirit at all times.
There is a remarkable state of those who are God Realized. The essence of all the Vedas is attained. All men can attain this. Whether it is a brother or a sister, learned or uneducated, diseased or healthy, of any "varna", stage in life, or an organization, whoever it may be – the attainment of this Divinity is open to all. Such joy can be attained for free. One can be so happy! In Its attainment there is no dependency, no subordination, no subservience at all. Then why don't people attain it? God says -
Ashraddhaanaah purushaa dharmasyaasya parantapa |
Apraapya maam nivartante mrutysansaaravartmani || (Gita 9/3)
People devoid of faith in this Dharma, fail to reach Me, O' oppressor of the foes, and they whirl in the path of the world of death i.e. they remain caught up in the recurring cycle of birth and death.
Taking the incorrect path, instead of attaining God, they go towards death. On continuing to be inclined and seeing towards the perishable, they remain in the birth and death cycle.
Hai jyotiyon ka bhi jyoti, tum sabse pratham jo bhaasataa |
Avyaya sanaatan divya Deepak sarva vishva jisase prakaashataa ||
Brothers and sisters! Pay attention - first one beholds God and then the world is seen. But you do not look towards God at all. You see this hall, this pillar – but actually, before all this, you see one thing. This pillar, this hall is seen later on. But on not having your sight on That, you only see the hall and the pillar. If you think carefully, than at first you see the light, and it is within that illumination that you are able to see the hall and the pillar etc. Similarly within that Existent, Conscious and Blissful Paramatma, the world is seen. First, that alone is seen. The knowledge that is there, is apparent knowledge, through which all three states are seen - waking, dream and deep trance. Childhood, youth and old age - all three are seen. Birth, sustainance and death all are seen; the light that all-in-all are seen in, that illumination is seen first and the foremost, and thereafter things are seen. Pillar, hand etc are seen within that realm of that light. All the things that are seen are created and destroyed; but there is no change in the illumination. Similarly, that light, that knowledge of God remains as-is. That knowledge is your true Nature.
