How to Renounce Desires?

How to Renounce Desires? :...(continued)

You are not situated in the things that are created and later destroyed. You are trapped due to giving importance to the perishable. Even then you cannot become united with it, as the union of sentient and the insentient are impossible. "jyotishaamapi tajjyotistamasah paramuchyate." What an unusual point has been said regarding that Essence (tattva), that Divinity. Such divinity is situated in the heart of each and everyone. - "Hrdi sarvasya vishthitam" "sarvasya chaaham hrdi sannivishthah" However evil a man may be, whether is he good, bad, honest, has good conduct, has bad conduct - the Paramatma (Supreme Consciousness, God) within everyone is One only. That God is As-Is (ever present, existent), and you do not look towards Him. Day and night you only see the perishable. "sammeelane nayanayorn hi kinchidasti" When the eyes shut; when the breathing shuts down, then there is nothing there -

Manushyatan phir phir nahi hoyi |
Umer sab gafalat mein khoyi ||
Kiya shubh karam nahi koyi |
Swapnaa-sa ho jaavasi sut-kutumb dhan-dhaam |
Ho sachet baldev neendase japa ishvarkaa naam ||

Today that "IS-ness" that is seen, will all become like a dream. The day that the eyes close then "Jai Ramji ki" in other words, this thing that appears like "IS" (existing), will become like a dream. No relationship will remain with it. Man has the pride that we will do so and so, what will you do? Besides wasting time, you will be able to do nothing. This human body is very priceless, it is a vehicle to realize God. Therefore brothers ! Beware! Become alert!

The desire for perishable is the cause of bondage. There is no other reason for bondage. Immediately on renouncing desires, one experiences joy. If you renounce the desire to live, then surely you will not die before the time is up! As long as the lifespan is as per what is destined, that many days live joyfully, but if you die while there are still desires, then you will have to die without dying.

We all know that the perishable will not last. We cannot stay with it. It will not stay with us. It has never stayed with us, and it can never stay with us. Generations have gone by, but so far not a single thing has gone with any body. Therefore have mercy and renounce desire for these things. People have pride that this land is mine, this wealth is mine. Bhartahari said - "naikenaapi saman gataa vasumate munj tvayaa yaasyati"

"He Munj! (O' grass) This world has not gone with anyone; but it seems that it will go with you." Nothing in this world will go with anyone. It has come in Bhagwat - The kings say that "we will get so much land. The land says, what can you get of me, but surely you will become one with me." Therefore whatever you have acquired, utilize it for the benefit of others; " we are happy in the happiness of others." Wherever there are such sentiments, there itself is God."
