Ease in God Realization
Want-to-Realize-that-Tattva-400.jpg

Listener ‒ We all are listening to a lot of spiritual discourses,  we are even trying, then too the desire to seek pleasures from this world is not going away Maharajji !

Swamiji ‒ In this, your effort will not be of use,  the pain and suffering you experience will be of use.    One must feel pain,  burning anguish within to have a quest to know how to get rid of this attraction for the world that is so persistent ?   If the pain and suffering increases,  then that attraction will go away.   This does not go away with effort.   However much of effort you put in,  you will be doing so by taking the support of the world,  you will be taking the support of the mind-intellect-senses-body.   You will have to take the support of the insentient.  Then how can you rise above the insentient ?    But if you experience suffering,  burning,  vexation then this fire has such power,  that it can burn away the desire for worldly enjoyments and hoarding.     If you develop such perseverance,  that I want to realize that ‘tattva’ (Truth, God).  I don’t want to attain anything that is incomplete.   I don’t want partial happiness.   I want food and clothes just enough to sustain this body,  I don’t want to take any pleasures,  nor do I want any rest and relaxation.   On having such a thought,  the intense thirst, longing and aspiration will be awakened.   On having intense longing,  that ‘tattva’ will be realized,  because that ‘tattva’ (Truth,  God) is omnipresent,  while the world is not.

Listener ‒  How to have such thoughts ?

Swamiji ‒  Honor those points that have been told to you just now.   You become pleased on receiving food that you like,  if someone serves you various delicious dishes,  then you become pleased,   if someone respects and honors you,  you are pleased,  then you are not entitled to this ‘tattva’ (Truth) !  He who becomes pleased in favorable situations, has no humanness in him whatsoever !  If you desire God Realization,  then do not get embroiled in all this.   Do not see pleasure in it.    Someone is agreeable to you, then you are very pleased,  and someone says something bitter,  but is beneficial for you, then you feel bad.   He who considers the beneficial talks as also bad,  how will he be able to realize that ‘tattva’ (Truth) ?   He who says something to you that is agreeable and sugarcoated,  such a person appears pleasing to you, then you are not entitled to this ‘tattva’ (Truth).   You will be unable to last or continue genuine ‘satsang’.  Without continuing, that ‘tattva’  will not be realized.   Place your hand on your heart and think over !

That ‘tattva’ is in everyone, at all times.   That ‘tattva’ remains as-it-is in all places, time, things, people, circumstances, incidents, states.   Therefore,  become disinclined from all these perishing things,  in other words,  do not take pleasure from them,  do not get entangled in them,  do not get embroiled in them.  You will realize the tattva here itself.  But if you take pleasure from these, you will experience nothing but suffering.
