Gems of Satsang - 2

God has by His immense Grace bestowed upon us this human body, so that this "Jeev" (embodied soul) becomes happy for all times to come. This human body has not been given for sensual enjoyments and hoarding of worldly objects and pleasures. It is only in this human body that one can serve others.   (In fact) humans can even serve God.  "God is hungry for sentiments/feelings (the love to attain God or to serve His people)" - this sentiment is possible only in humans.  Human can even satisfy the hunger of God.

For one's deliverance, a most important point is – change the `I'-ness (the sense of who `I' am).  I am a Sadhak (spiritual aspirant), then how can I do any work that is opposed to my spiritual practices?  He who looks at (the duties of) others, can never ever be earnest in doing his duties. It is not one's duty to see the duties of others; it is an illegitimate attempt on his part.
One's spiritual discipline is not some profession-job-business, in which there are holidays.  It is one's life, like one's breath! Therefore it is said in the Gita - "Tasmaatsarveshu kaaleshu maamanusmara"  (8/7)  (`constantly remember Me at all times…')

God IS and He is ours (our very own).  Ignoring Him and giving importance to this body is a (grave) mistake. The part of God (being), should remain established in Him alone, but it has got hold of a part of "prakriti"  (world, matter, nature)  -

Mamaivaansho jeevaloke jeevabhoota sanaatanah |
Manashashthaaneendriyaani prakritisthaani karshati  ||   (Gita 15/7)

"The soul which has become embodied (`jeev') in the world of life, is an eternal part of My very own Self. But it attracts (by assuming a relation with/ accepting as his own) the mind and the five senses, which are abiding/ established in nature."

Part of Nature (mind and senses) is established in Nature alone - "prakritisthaani"
God is calling you constantly, therefore you cannot stay put anywhere. Whatever thing, situation, condition etc. you (try to) catch, it goes away.
If you leave from your heart the persons and possessions that you have (assumed a relation with) within, then today itself you can realize God. In reality, God is attained. Even God does not have the strength to separate you from Himself. The "IS" (God, Supreme Consciousness) has become "AM" due to the acceptance of the "I".
"Aham Brahmaasmi" is a state, a condition, a tendency (`vrutti'), a form of worship, but it is not the Essence (`tattva') - "Sohamasmi iti brutti akhandaa"  (Manas, Uttar.118/1). A "condition" (vrutti) can be extinguished/destroyed by the winds of material objects - "anchal baat bujhaavahin deepa"  (Manas,  Uttar. 118/4). But, "Tabahi deep bigyaan bujhaayi" (Manas.  Uttar.118/7) - the Essence (Self) cannot be destroyed by the storms of worldly turmoil also.

******** ******** ******** ********

In the Gita, the main point is refuge (Sharanagati).  Sharanagati has been called "Sarvaguhyatam" (deepest of all secrets).  Jeev (embodied soul) is a part of God, therefore taking refuge in God is very simple and straight-forward for him, just like it is for a small child to go to the lap of his mother. It is the work (responsibility/duty) of "jeev" (embodied soul) to take refuge in God, and it is the work of God to liberate him from all sins -
Sarvadharmaanparityajya maamekam sharanam vraja |
Aham tvaa sarvapaapebhyo mokshayishyaami maa suchah ||  (Gita 18/66)
God has already taken and kept us in His refuge. We simply need to leave the dependence on the world.  One who takes refuge in the Lord (the refugee), becomes liberated at the beginning itself! He who takes refuge in the Lord, becomes accomplished and perfect first and then he becomes an aspirant, whereas, the one who follows the path of knowledge, becomes an aspirant first and then he attains accomplishment.
