Shree Hari
Glories of a Saint

continued....
आदि अविद्या अटपटी, घट-घट बीच अड़ी ।
कहो  कैसे  समझाइये,    कूए  भाँग  पड़ी ॥

When bhaang (cannibas based drink)  was mixed into the well water,  all became intoxicated.   Now who will understand ?  We must become alert !

After much effort, renunciation and austerities, the saints and great souls have realized the Truth.  God is eagerly waiting and ready with open heart, to give to them.   If some take, then He is pleased,  He is ecstatic.  In the same way -  the more a shopkeeper is able to sell his goods,  that much he is pleased.   The shopkeeper himself benefits,  but saints and great souls become pleased when all attain salvation ‒

In this world, there are only two that are void of any selfishness ‒ you (Shri Bhagawan)  and your servants (saints and great souls).     As a greedy man loves his money and a man of pleasures, enjoys sense pleasures, in the same way, without any cause, God and His loving devotees see to the welfare of all. The saints have a love for even something more exceptional,   seeing to the supreme good of all of humanity.

I have been living among the devotees of the Lord.   A thought has come to my mind,  that,  I have been bestowed the association of such highly elevated great men,  but I am not deserving of association of such great saints.   I had asked a question to one highly evolved saint ‒ Maharaj  ! there is darkness in God’s abode,  there is carefulness where He lives.   It is due to this that people like me,  have received the ‘darshan’ of such great men who are highly elevated in spiritual matters.  I am not deserving at all.  Only the entitled ones should receive the best of things.   But even people like us have received talks of such a profound and elevated nature,  ‒ then what is this  ?

अंधाधुंध सरकार है तुलसी भजो निसंक ।
खीझे दीन्हो परमपद, रीझे दीन्ही लंक ॥

It is proper accounting at all ?  On getting angry,  Ravana received the eternal post,  and on being pleased,  Vibhishan received the throne of the kingdom.  On asking this question, the answer I received was - ‘your point is well taken.   Only an appropriate match should be seeked out for a young daughter.   But when the girl grows up,  and an appropriate (well matched) husband is not found,  then one has to settle for whatever one gets.’  Same way,  the talks though of an exceptional kind,  have be received by us,  the undeserving ones  !
