Love
of Serving in the Great Devotee Shri Hanumanji
It
is God`s most auspicious and infinite grace that for infinite years innumerable Rishis, saints-great souls, devotees have been born on the land of Mother India . Of them the great devotee Shri Hanumanji Maharaj holds an exceptional position. Born in an ordinary birth of a monkey, then too through his feelings and sentiments, qualities, and conduct, Hanumanji has done the supreme good of all of mankind and is still doing so, which people are already familiar with. No being can ever be free of debt of his obligation. No one has the ability to describe his worship and devotion as a servant of Lord Ram. Then too for the purpose of meaningful use of our time, an attempt is being made to intimate a few points.
To surrender one`s self totally and entirely to the Lord, to serve Him according to His wishes, inspiration and instructions, to have the feeling of seeing to His comfort at all times and in return to not want anything from Him - this is the nature of love and devotion. This is found in Hanumanji in a perfect and complete way. He regards his body, senses, mind, intellect, power, abilities. time etc. as only the Lord`s and engages in His service. His entire life is over-flowing with the sentiments of giving joy and comfort to His Lord.
The sentiments of providing pleasure and comfort to the Lord with faith and love is called `Rati`. This `rati` predominantly is believed to be of four kinds - servitude, friendship, love of a child and love of lover. In this the sentiments of friendship is better than servitude, and sentiments of child is better than friendship, and sentiments of lover is better than sentiments of a child.
Because in this the devotee is more forgetful of the Lord`s glories and his hesitation that I am inferior and Lord is great is washed away, and the loving relationship with God continues to grow and strengthen. However, when of the four, if any one form of love reaches perfection , then one develops all the other forms of love. Just as when one becomes a perfect loving servant of the Lord, then he also develops the remaining three - the love of friendship, love of child, and love of a lover. The same holds true and should be understood for all the other remaining forms of loving relationships. The reason being that God is complete, absolute and perfect, his love is also complete, and being a part of God, the jeev (embodied soul) is also complete. The lack of completeness and imperfections come only due to having a relationship with the world, because the world is entirely imperfect. Hanumanji has complete and perfect love in serving the Lord, therefore he is not lacking in any of the other loving relationships. Present in him is the love of a servant, a friend, a child and a lover, all the four forms of love in totality.
Loving Relationship as a Servant of the Lord
In this loving relationship as a servant of the Lord, the devotee has the sentiments that God is my Lord, and I am his servant. Whatever the Lord does, whatever situation the Lord puts me in, and whatever work he makes me do, he has full and complete rights over me. In this form of love of a devotee, not even the slightest bit of sense of mine-ness remains with the body, senses, mind, intellect, etc. He only understands that being inspired by the Lord, with the powers bestowed by Him, I offer to Him all the things given to me by Him. If God bestows upon such devotees with exclusive sentiments of servitude, even residence in His abode, or grandeur and glories like Him, or proximity to Him, or beauty and appearance like that of God, or to become one (immersed and blend in with God) these five forms of liberation, then too he will not accept them.
