|| Shree Hari ||
(Naam Japa aur Seva se Bhagwat Praapti )
continued ...Saints have said -
"Hariyaa bandivaan jyun kariye kook pukaar." When someone has encircled and trapped you
from all four sides, and you wish to escape from there, then the way you shout
and call out " O' someone please help
release me ! Save me ! Similarly
there should be a calling from within – "Lord ! I am trapped in passion, anger, attachment,
attraction etc. O' Lord !
You please release me from all these!"
In this manner, with a sense of desperation call out to the Lord!
So far, the extent that is
written about the glories of the Naam Japa, that much it most certainly is, but besides that, there is even a lot more
that has not been said. But you do not
do the Naam Japa properly, and
you say that so far the glories that have been described and heard of naam
japa in the scriptures, that much is not seen ! How can it be seen? You have not done Naam Japa that
way, in desperation. The method of doing Naam Japa
is - with
exclusive feelings, take the Name of the Lord, that only God is mine,
and besides God, no one else is mine. I am only God's and besides God,
I belong to
no one else. I
am not my Mother's-father's, wife's-son's etc. If they regard me as
their own, then it is
for serving that they are mine. Serve
the mother- father, provide for the wife
and son, but have no feeling of wanting
to take anything from them. Very
promptly and justly you make them pleased, but do not let yourself get
trapped
with them. You will not get trapped by
giving, but if there is a desire to take, then you will be bound. The
entire world is ours for serving. But for taking the world is not ours
at
all. The great point is that we are not
to do Naam Japa for taking something even from God. We are to do Naam
Japa, so
that God accepts that we remain at all times God's only and we never
forget
God. A devotee has said
Divi vaa bhuvi vaa mamaastu vaaso narake vaa

"O' Lord, the destroyer of evil ! whether you place me in heaven, whether you
place me on earth, whether you place me
in hell. I do not object to any of
it. I only have one request that I do
not forget Your Lotus feet even at the time of death. Let me always remember Your Lotus feet."
The fruit of this birth is
only that the subject of my prayer is also only one and I believe your grace
also to be in that You remember me as the servant of the servant of your slave,
and his servant's servant of the seventh order. (to be continued)
