Sudden and Untimely Death

Sudden and Untimely Death
(continued)

If man wants then he can give his life-span to another person, but this privilege is only for those men, that are realized souls. Just as only one who is an adult has the right to give away his wealth, not a minor; similarly, only on becoming a realized soul, one has the rights to give his life-span away. But until he is not a self-realized, god-realized, liberated soul, till then human being is like a minor, and cannot give away the years of his life to another. As God has given this life-span for the attainment of one's salvation, therefore this life must be utilized only for one's own and other's salvation. This life must not be destroyed.

There was a saint in Rajasthan. He and his mother were both self-realized souls. When death was nearing him, at that time his mother gave few years of her life to him, by which he once again became alive. Later when he died, both he and his mother died together. Therefore, he who has realized God, only such a capable individual can give away years of his life to someone else. But this can only happen when all three are willing - the giver, the taker and God. But nothing will happen, if any one of the three parties, is unwilling.

For the benefit of the demi-gods, Dadhichi Rishi gave away his life, but he did not incur any sins; because he was able. It has come in Ramayana -

Samarth kahun dosh gosaayi |
Rabi paawak surasari ki naayi || (Manas, Baalkand 69/4)

Even those impure things on earth such as urine and feces, get purified by rays of the Sun, therefore the sun is capable. Whether it is sandalwood or a dead body, the fire burns everything and purifies it, therefore fire is capable. If the impure waters of the sewer blends with the Gangaji, then Gangaji, purifies it, therefore Gangaji is capable. Therefore "all capable" is the name of that which makes the incapable capable, impure pure, and himself remains ever pure. He who makes others incapable, is a demon, a devil. He who has a lot of wealth, he too is not capable. He is only a slave to wealth. He is deserving of pity. Like that, he who has a lot of power or is in a high post/position, he too is not capable; because he is a slave to the position and to the power etc. The capability that is seen in him, is not his own, rather the wealth, the post, the power, the kingdom etc. which will eventually separate from him. It is great dishonesty to consider one's self as capable with those temporary things that come and go.
